Banana Bread Oatmeal

Banana Bread Oatmeal is a healthy breakfast done in less than ten minutes. Add your favorite toppings to this heart healthy meal.

Banana Bread Oatmeal
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 3 cups milk
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mashed banana
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped toasted pecans
  • Banana slices and chopped pecans for serving
  1. In a medium saucepan, bring milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla to a gentle boil; stir in oats. Reduce heat to medium. Cook 5 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally. Remove oatmeal from heat. Stir in mashed banana and pecans. Spoon oatmeal into bowls. Top with banana slices and pecan halves.
